In recent years, domestic stainless steel cold-rolling projects have been put into production and reached production one after another. The output of stainless steel cold-rolling has grown rapidly, hot-rolled billets are becoming more and more scarce, and the structure of export coil products has also changed from hot-rolling to cold-rolling.
In 2021, benefiting from overseas fiscal monetization measures and repeated public health and security incidents, the supply chain will recover slowly, while China’s stainless steel supply chain is complete and stable, and most overseas orders will be transferred to China. Against the background of 2.365 million tons of cold-rolled stainless steel exports, the export volume of cold-rolled stainless steel increased significantly year-on-year, accounting for 67.8% of the total export volume (only 40.7% in 2017). From January to February 2022, the volume will be about 375,000 tons (the proportion has increased to 69.2%), an increase of 89,000 tons or 31.3% year-on-year.
